Combien :
Cet atelier utilise les coûts variables selon vos moyens entre 600 et 850 CAD.
Il y aura un minimum de 8 et un maximum de 12 étudiants. Une fois que 8 étudiants se seront inscrits, l'atelier sera confirmé.

Langue : L’atelier est offert simultanément en français et en anglais, avec traduction au fur et à mesure.

Dans cet atelier de 6 jours, vous apprendrez les principes fondamentaux du clown théâtral et explorerez ce qui, en vous, peut faire pleurer de rire. À travers différentes formes de jeu, nous entrerons dans un état naïf de découverte. Vous serez amené à partager vos réactions spontanées avec le public à travers la théâtralité de votre clown. C'est un acte courageux et ludique de poésie comique. Il ouvre la porte à une véritable présence sur scène et à une liberté de jouer avec tout ce qui vous arrive.

Nous avons tous une façon unique de bouger qui exprime quelque chose d'essentiel sur qui nous sommes. En observant attentivement le corps en mouvement dans l'espace théâtral, nous pouvons apprendre à reconnaître nos propres schémas somatiques et à les amplifier à l'aide de ce que Jacques Lecoq appelait "le plus petit masque du monde" : le nez rouge. Ce processus révèle le clown unique de chaque personne, avec sa propre physicalité, sa voix, son costume et son timing comique.

Vous n'avez besoin d'aucune expérience particulière avant d'arriver, juste l'envie de vivre pleinement et de partager ce que vous êtes avec votre public. Ce travail est à la fois ludique, amusant et stimulant pour tous les interprètes. Peu importe votre niveau, il s’agit d’une occasion d'apprendre sur vous-mêmes et sur le métier de clown à partir de ce riche champ de travail.

L'approche de Peter au clown combine la folie du jeu avec la rigueur de la technique. Il enseigne les outils les plus efficaces qu'il a utilisés au cours de ses plus de 20 ans de pratique et de mise en scène du clown, du théâtre physique et du cirque. Peter a découvert le clown lors d'un workshop avec Avner "The Eccentric" Eisenberg en 2003 et a développé sa pratique du clown et sa pédagogie du clown grâce à son long mentorat avec Giovanni Fusetti, directeur fondateur de l'école internationale de création théâtrale Helikos. L'approche unique de Peter a été enrichie par son expérience en tant qu'enseignant de la technique Alexander, de la respiration Wutao et d'un large éventail d'arts somatiques et martiaux.

Peter Sweet est à la fois interprète, professeur et directeur de théâtre physique et de cirque contemporain depuis 2000.
Ses spectacles solo et duo : Meet Pete Sweet, Swinging High et BOOM ! ont été présentés dans plus de 20 pays. Peter a été directeur du spectacle dans le département de cirque de Die Etage Berlin pendant 4 ans. Il est conseiller et coach de thèse au programme de maîtrise en chorégraphie de Fonty aux Pays-Bas et a été professeur invité à l'Université de danse et de cirque de Stockholm, à l'Université des arts de Zurich et à la Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding de Munich.

Peter a étudié le théâtre physique à l'École internationale de création théâtrale Helikos à Florence, la danse contemporaine et classique à l'Académie expérimentale de danse de Salzbourg et le cirque à l'École du Cirque Zofy à Sion (CH). Il est professeur certifié de la Technique Alexander et du Wutao, un art du mouvement français basé sur la respiration et l'ondulation.
Peter est actuellement basé à Berlin (DE), où il dirige des compagnies professionnelles, enseigne des ateliers et crée de nouvelles œuvres de folie inspirée. À temps perdu, il lit, fait voler des cerfs-volants, danse dans la cuisine et regarde des rediffusions du Muppet Show.

How much :
This workshop uses a sliding scale between 600 and 850 CAD.
There will be a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 students. Once 8 students have registered, the workshop will be confirmed.

Language: The workshop will be bilingual, in French and English, with translation fluidly according to individual needs.

In this 6 day workshop you will learn the fundamentals of theatrical clowning and explore what it is about you that moves people to laughter. Through games and collective play we will enter a naive state of discovery. You will practice sharing your honest, spontaneous reactions with the audience through the theatrical form of your individual clown. This is a brave and playful act of comic poetry. It opens the door to true presence on stage and a freedom to play with everything that happens to you.

Each of us has an individual way of moving that expresses something essential about who we are. Through close observation of the body moving in theatrical space we can learn to recognise our own somatic patterns and amplify them with the help of what Jacques Lecoq called “the smallest mask in the world”: the red nose. This process reveals the unique clown of each person, with its own physicality, voice, costume and comedic timing.

You don’t need any special experience before you arrive, just the desire to live fully and share what you are with your audience. This work is as ridiculous and fun as it is challenging. Performers of all levels, as well as non-performers, can learn about themselves and the craft of clowning from this rich field of work.

Peter’s approach to clown combines the madness of play with the rigour of technique. He teaches the most effective tools that he has has used in his 20+ years of performing and directing clown, physical theatre, and circus. Peter frist discovered clown in a workshop with Avner "The Eccentric" Eisenberg in 2003 and has developed his practice of clowning and clown pedagogy through his long mentorship with Giovanni Fusetti, founding director of the Helikos International School of Theater Creation. Peter’s unique approach has been further enriched by his experience as a teacher of the Alexander Technique, Wutao breath-work, and a wide range of somatic and martial arts.

Peter Sweet has been working as a performer, teacher and director of physical theater and contemporary circus since 2000. His solo and duo shows: Meet Pete Sweet (Clown developed with Avner "The Eccentric" Eisenberg), Swinging High (directed by Giovanni Fusetti), and BOOM! (directed by Matteo Destro) have toured in over 20 countries. Peter served as the director of performance in the circus department at Die Etage Berlin for 4 years. He is a thesis advisor and coach at Fonty’s Netherlands masters program in choreography and has been a guest teacher at the Stockholm University of Dance and Circus, Zurich University of the Arts and the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich.

Peter studied physical theatre at the Helikos International School of Theatre Creation in Florence, contemporary and classical dance at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in Salzburg and circus at Ecole du Cirque Zofy in Sion (CH). He is a certified teacher of both the Alexander Technique and Wutao, a French movement art based on breath and undulation.
Peter is currently based in Berlin (DE), where he directs professional companies, teaches workshops and creates new works of inspired madness. In his free time he reads, flies kites, dances in the kitchen, and watches Muppet show re-runs.
