Under the supervision of the Jardins Gamelin Producer, the incumbent ensures the smooth running of programming activities on the Jardins Gamelin site and the East Pole of the Quartier des spectacles (QDS). She organizes and supervises operations during events and ensures the smooth running of shows and activities. She is responsible for supervising artists, show managers and the work of technicians, and works closely with the technical, production and programming departments.

  • Develop the governance model for the Jardins Gamelin and the East Pole: preparatory meeting, model documents, etc.
  • Write the roadmaps for all the programming of the Jardins Gamelin and the East Pole and communicate them to the different teams (sound technicians, artists, production)
  • Ensure that the equipment meets the technical needs of the services (adapt it as needed)
  • Carry out the rental and follow-up with the various technical suppliers in collaboration with the technical advisor
  • Ensure the smooth running of the programming schedule for Les Jardins Gamelin, as well as the compliance and quality of services
  • Ensure venues are refurbished following performances
  • Inform the producer and/or the technical advisor of any anomaly, breakage or malfunction of a device, a technical system or the spaces used by the artists (exterior and interior)
  • Inform the programming team of any requests regarding artists or venues through comprehensive daily management reports
  • Make sure to offer the optimal conditions for the presentation of a show
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the project team and various meetings with promoters and partners
  • Write certain documents requested by the programming production department (traffic, accidents, breakage, etc.)
  • Engage field managers as needed and supervise them
  • Develop the schedule of managers and manage time sheets
  • Supervise the work of sound technicians on site in collaboration with the technical advisor

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 3 years of experience in event logistics / production on an outdoor recreational tourism site
  • Experience in personnel management
  • Ability to work with a marginalized clientele (people experiencing homelessness, mental disorders, drug addiction, etc.)
  • Ability to work outdoors, rain or shine
  • Customer service oriented
  • Discernment and proactivity
  • Good physical condition (handling, cleaning, maintenance)
  • Good command of spoken and written French and spoken English
  • Mastery of computer tools (office suite, email, etc.)
  • Asset: experience in psychosocial intervention with a varied public, people who are inebriated, intoxicated or have mental disorders
  • Asset: knowledge of Zone festival software

 

WHAT WE OFFER

  • The schedule is Monday to Friday day and evening (37.5 hours) according to the on-site programming schedule and must be available in person or by telephone occasionally on weekends

The Partnership's permanent team ensures the animation of the Quartier by programming cultural activities, managing public places, highlighting the Quartier and promoting it as an unmissable cultural destination. The Partnership benefits from the support of the City of Montreal. The Quartier des Spectacles, an area of ​​one square kilometer located in downtown Montreal, is the cultural heart of the metropolis. Cultural and creative destination recognized on the international scene, it includes 80 venues and hosts 40 festivals annually.
